I was born in Fukui, but spent my middle and high school years in NJ, USA. As a returnee and someone who is from a rural area, I wanted to use my background to plan an interactive workshop. I will be looking forward to talk with everyone!

Vera Ahnlund Berg

アーンルンド・ベルグ・ヴェラ

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Moved to Tokyo in 2019 for short term language studies, and came back for university in 2022. I speak Swedish, English, and Japanese.

I'm excited to listen to everyones perspective and experiences!

Earned a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Specializes in sociology, gender, and sexuality. Serves as Director of the SOGI Research Institute at Waseda University's Institute for Advanced Research.

I'm Anais from Tokyo!
Attending International School from young age has strengthen my English skill. I've also met people from diverse backgrounds at Waseda University and my study abroad destination, the University of Edinburgh. I'm really looking forward to this valuable opportunity to talk with high school students in Fukui!

Gender, Sexuality, and Society 

釜野ゼミ

A Thesis Research Seminar specializes in gender and sexuality led by Professor Kamano. This seminar was launched in 2024 at Waseda University's School of Social Sciences. Though the seminar has only six members, the language of instruction is English, and half of the students are from abroad. This event is being held as part of the seminar's activities.
