If there are any other questions you would like to ask, don't hesitate to reach out via the contact form!

"Can I still attend the event if I am not confident with my level of English?"

→ The workshop will largely take place in Japanese, however, part of the group discussions will be in English. We will attempt to make groups based on comfortability with speaking English, and we plan to make one group which uses only Japanese.

"Can I attend the event with a friend?"

→ You are very welcome to attend the event with a friend! If you feel more comfortable that way, we can make sure you and your friend is in the same discussion group. However, please apply separately to the event so that we can count attendance before the event.

"Can I attend for just part of the event, and leave early/arrive late?"

→ We recommend all participants who are able to to attend the entire event. However, if you can only attend part of the event and you are unsure about what to do, please contact us so we can advice you about how to proceed.

"What should I wear?"

→ Feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

"Maybe I would like to apply, but I am not sure how it would benefit me."

→ Besides being a place where you can discuss in English with native speakers, you will also be given the opportunity to listen to a mini lecture by a real university professor. You might even be able to use the experience for university applications or interviews!

"Can you write a proof of me attending the event (to be used for university applications)?"

→ We can not write any such documents.

"Can I attend the event alone?"

→ In the group discussions, every group will be split into three to five high school students and one to two university students (depending on the number of participants), so don't hesitate to sign up and attend the event by yourself!

"What do you do during the event that makes it into an 'international exchange'?"

→ In the discussions, you will be placed with university students from various international backgrounds and talk with them about different topics.

"I have no previous knowledge about 'gender issues', can I still apply?"

→ We encourage you to attend the event even if you have no previous knowledge. With help from the mini lecture from Professor Kamano, we will gain new insights and learn together. In the workshop, you can discuss your own feelings and thoughts about gender with university students and explore new thoughts and perspectives!
